Emma Raducanu has confirmed that her 2022 season is officially over as she has suggested that all the challenges and adversity are a part of “this unique proces.” Raducanu, 19, didn’t win any titles this year as she was struggling with injuries and results throughout the entire season.

The 2022 season – which was Raducanu’s first full season on the WTA Tour – wasn’t ideal but the 19-year-old is not complaining. “That’s it 22! On my own route, it’s all part of this unique journey!

Thumbs up to first year on tour,” Raducanu wrote on Twitter.

Raducanu was hoping to represent Great Britain at the BJK Cup Finals

A month ago, Raducanu sustained a wrist injury in Ostrava.

A week ago, Raducanu announced her withdrawal from the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, scheduled to take place next week in Glasgow. “It’s disappointing to get the news from the doctors that I won’t be ready in time, particularly with it being on home soil.

I tried to do everything possible to get it ready in time, since my last tournament I’ve been working every day on physical training + rehab,” Raducanu said in a statement. British team captain Anne Keothavong insisted that Raducanu did her best to be ready for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals but it just wasn’t meant for the 19-year-old to represent her nation in Glasgow.

“She did everything to be fit for Glasgow but it wasn’t going to happen. It was evident when she went on court and tried hitting a few balls that she was going to need more time. It’s unfortunate and it was a bit of a blow because we know what she’s capable of, and also given her profile and her support for the team and the competition, it’s a loss not to have her on this team.

But it is what it is. I know she’s still supportive in the background. She might even make it to Glasgow. She’s obviously trying to focus on getting fit and ready. If she’s not there supporting on the side then she will be from afar,” Keothavong said of Raducanu’s withdrawal.
