After Dominik Mysterio turned to the dark side at Clash at the Castle, joining The Judgement Day by turning on his own father, Rey Mysterio, and Edge, the group seemed stronger than ever during Monday night’s edition of Raw.

First, the group made a pitch to Matt Riddle to join their ranks. When Riddle refused, Finn Balor scored a big win, pinning Riddle with a bit of help from Seth Rollins. Then, in the night’s main event, Dominik and the rest of The Judgement Day managed to brutalize WWE legend Edge to put a stamp on the faction’s biggest night since their creation.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

A big night for The Judgement Day

Finn Balor def. Matt Riddle via pinfall after a Coup de Grace. Riddle interrupted a Seth Rollins promo to open the show. After the pair brawled, The Judgement Day came to the ring to offer Riddle a chance to join their group. He refused, angering Damian Priest and Balor and leading to the match. Priest was run out of ringside by Rey Mysterio during the match, but Rollins interfered and set up Riddle to take the loss. After the match, Rollins attacked Riddle, hitting a stomp to lay him out.

Edge def. Dominik Mysterio via disqualification after interference from The Judgement Day. Rey Mysterio confronted Dominik earlier in the night, saying he was sorry he didn’t realize his son was holding in his feelings and asked him to work things out, which Dominik ignored as Rhea Ripley said Dominik was a man now. Rey later confronted Edge, asking him “father to father” to reconsider the match with Dominik, but Edge said if Dominik is ready to act like a man, he had to deal with the consequences of his actions. During the match, Edge had taken control of the action but Rey jumped in the ring, begging Edge to stop his attack. This led to Priest and Balor attacking, taking out both Edge and Rey for the disqualification. Ripley handed Dominik a chair and demanded he attack Edge, at which point Dominik hit Edge across the knee several times before Judgement Day held Edge’s foot on a chair so Balor could jump onto his knee with a Coup de Grace.

The Judgement Day hasn’t been the best group since its creation, but Monday night was the group’s best night yet. The team operated in a way that got over on big-name faces because of their cohesive attack. And, with Rey and Edge getting worked over, they didn’t have to take a back seat to bigger names. This is likely a result of Rey wanting his son to get the best possible opportunities but whatever the reason, it was good to see the group look like a true force instead of fodder for big moments from the babyfaces they’re feuding with.
