American tennis star Jessica Pegula reveals she has a planned trip to Napa as she is looking forward to spending some time with her friends and also enjoying some wine. Pegula, 28, has had the season of her life this year, which includes a maiden WTA 1000 title, a WTA Finals debut and breaking into the top-3.

Napa Valley, located in California, is known for producing some of the world’s finest wines. Even though Pegula is not really a wine type of person, she is looking forward to celebrating her season with a glass or two of wine.

“I’ve always wanted to go. I’ve never been. I’m not like a huge wine person but I would love to learn more. So I felt like that was a good spot. Some of our friends wanted to go as well. It’s in the States, so it’s not too far away.

I didn’t want to go anywhere out of the country,” Pegula said, per Eurosport.

Pegula and friends set to celebrate the American’s success

“I feel like my friends are usually the ones that do a good job of that.

I’m not one to really celebrate myself too much or like the attention on me. But I think all your friends are like your hype people. So they’re definitely like, ‘No, we’re gonna celebrate and drink tons of wine in Napa and it’s going to be a total celebration of your awesome year’

It’s one of those things where tennis, it’s just rough. You have one good week, one bad week and people forget really easily and or don’t remember you winning and they just see your loss next week. So it’s hard.

So I think as tennis players we do need to celebrate,” Pegula added. Meanwhile, Pegula finished her WTA Finals debut. Pegula went 0-3 in the singles event and also 0-3 in the doubles event with Cori Gauff. Pegula has one more event left on her 2022 schedule as she is set to represent the United States at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals next week.
